Abraham Lincoln: Beyond the American Icon

Author/Lincolniana collector Fred Reed expands upon the themes he introduced in his award-winning book for the Lincoln Bicentennial. This new work features the author's insightful commentary, as well as about 1,000 entirely new images from Reed's collection, supplemented by rare and choice items from other private and public collections. The book's scholarly yet breezy narrative coupled with the "feast" of illustrative material -- familiar to readers of the author's first Lincoln book -- presents a chronological review of Lincoln image-making and imagery during the last century and a half.

Entirely new text; completely new images. Updated to include a wealth of Lincoln Bicentennial information and images not available elsewhere. This book also presents a thorough review of contemporary Lincoln imagery in the United States and around the world.

This book is suitable for teens and adults, libraries and private study.
