Fred Reed unveiled his new Lincoln book, Abraham Lincoln: Beyond the American Icon at the April 2011 Fort Wayne, IN symposium.

Fred spoke on his two Lincoln books at the April 2, 2011, Central States Numismatic Society Educational Symposium held at the Allen County Public Library, Fort Wayne, IN. Attendance was 40+ to hear Fred's powerpoint presentation and the other speakers.

Fred was kept busy signing books and chatting with fans at the August 2010 American Numismatic Association convention in Boston.

Events

• In August 2012 Fred anticipates speaking during the upcoming American Numismatic Association World's Fair of Money in Philadelphia, PA. Fred will appear in conjunction with his publisher Dennis Tucker discussing Fred and Whitman's debut of Fred's new book on Lincoln imagery and numismatics Abraham Lincoln, Beyond the American Icon. Stay tuned for details.


• Fred appeared at the 8th Annual Society of Paper Money Collectors Authors Forum June 10, 2011, during the Memphis International Paper Money Show. He gave an illustrated presentation on his upcoming book Abraham Lincoln: Beyond the American Icon. Five other authors discussed their books ranging from Vietnamese numismatics to World War II bonds to United States paper money.

• Fred's powerpoint presentation on his two Lincoln books and book signing at the Central States Numismatic Society-Old Fort Coin Club Numismatic Seminar April 2, 2011, was a great success. The event was held at the world-class Allen County Library in downtown Fort Wayne, IN. The symposium's theme was "Abraham Lincoln: His Times & His Cents." Attendance was 40+. Speakers were welcomed by Lincoln Financial Collection Lincoln Librarian Cindy VanHorn. A highlight of Fred's powerpoint talk was the unveiling of the "working cover" for his forthcoming volume Abraham Lincoln: Beyond the American Icon, a sequel to his award-winning 2009 book, the cover of which he displays at left. The cover of the new book is also now shown on this web site's Home Page.

• Fred's book signing for his award-winning book Abraham Lincoln, the Image of His Greatness at the Whitman Publishing booth during the American Numismatic Association convention, Boston, on Thursday August 12, 2010, was a great success. Scheduled for a half-hour, the signing went on for another 20 minutes to accommodate book-buyers and well-wishers.
